X-Ray Scanner 10, delves into the intimate and often overlooked world inside the bones— a space where biology and emotion converge. Beyond their structural function, bones are imagined here as silent witnesses of the body’s history, holding the weight of unspoken memories, inherited emotions, and deeply rooted sensations. The marrow, hidden deep within, becomes a metaphor for what is most essential yet unseen — a soft core protected by the hardness of survival. By abstracting anatomical detail, the work seeks to reveal the emotional resonance held in the body’s foundation, inviting a quiet reflection on what lives beneath the surface of form.
Born in Minieh, Lebanon, and now living and working in Beirut, Christine Safatly (b.1992) received her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University in 2018, where she specialized in painting, drawing, and sculpture. She was a fellow of Ashkal Alwan’s Home Workspace Program in 2019-20. Her work has been exhibited in the 12th Berlin Biennale, Beirut Art Center, the Institut français du Liban and Haven for Artists.
