Sabah Haider
Sabah Haider based between Paris and Beirut, Sabah Haider is a cultural and visual anthropologist. Her research and creative practice engage with themes of identity, memory, displacement, and the complex ways time and space are experienced. Haider is a cultural and visual anthropologist, and associate researcher at the Institut français du Proche-Orient (IFPO). She earned her Ph.D. from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, in 2023, and her MA in Film Studies from University College London in 2009.

Freedom Recalled is a landmark exhibition at Beit Beirut which confronts Lebanon’s unresolved history of impunity, the failures of justice and the unhealed wounds that continue to echo through its collective psyche. At its heart, Freedom Recalled asks: Do we bear a responsibility to remember — and if so, how? What silences do we choose to uphold, and what price must truth exact in return?
